Bailee Kherington

I am CRAZY in love with this little girl. Bailee Kherington was born at 4.29am on Friday July 18th. She is our smallest baby weighing in at 5 lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She has strawberry blonde hair and the biggest eyes.

I always enjoy hearing how it all went down so if you're interested, here's a recap of our events. I went to bed at 12.30am on Thursday night and as I lay in bed saying my prayers I ended with a slight plea saying,

"Heavenly Father, she's full term now so anytime she's ready, we're ready"

and *pop* my water broke. I hadn't showered that day so I jumped in the shower and spent an hour at the house. And, wouldn't you know, my awesome friend and neighbor, just left for a 4 day camping trip that day and I was counting on her to take the kids. I hadn't made a back up plan yet but we have some good friend we knew we could call at 1.00am (thanks Shane and Laura).

My contractions began slowly at the hospital at 1.30am and were in full force by 2.30am. I went from a 4 to an 8 in about 20 minutes. The labor went quickly and with Bailee's perfect cooperation she was born by 4.30am.

I know I'm not the only one CRAZY in love with her. For one, her daddy is totally smitten. The children have started to come and complain to me that daddy won't let them hold her. Kenadee is one of the best helpers. She is so sweet and so gentle. She said that she can't believe this is our baby and we get to keep her. Jake was a little more reserved at first not wanting to hold her but now he can't hold her enough. And Belle, who would hold her all day if she could, asked me this morning with a smile on her face,

"Mom, do you still love me?"

The cute thing is that I could tell when she asked that she wasn't feeling unloved, she was just checking!

We feel so blessed to have this amazing little spirit finally here with us. So, good bye Unisom, B6 and Zofran, my nightly cocktail, and hello sleepless nights with the most beautiful baby ever!
