Finally....Christmas Dinner

With our long trip to Utah we weren't able to have our annual Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day so we were finally able to have it on Sunday. We have an awesome Brine Turkey recipe and Marc is such a good 'turkey maker' that we look forward to this turkey every year. Needless to say it was a moist, succulent, tasty turkey. Look at us, we hadn't even changed our church clothes so we look all fancy for our dinner.

We also spent the whole dinner eating the 'English' way with our knives and forks. We were very proper and the kids really enjoyed it. It took some practice but they were able to eat 'properly' with their utensils. And this was Bailee's first time at the table with us. We finally bought her a high chair. It attaches to the seat which works out perfectly for our kitchen space. Thats her behind the bottle of bubbly!!

If you notice in the picture above we always have our English Christmas Crackers which is a tradition from my childhood. If you haven't ever seen Christmas Crackers, they pop when you pull them and contain a party hat, party favor and silly joke, which I usually have to explain because they are English and don't often make sense. For example, this years joke:

Q. What did the traffic light say to the Zebra Crossing (term we use for crosswalk)??

A. Don't look now, I'm changing!

Even Bailee wore her party hat which she kept on for quite a while. She spent quite a bit of time just sucking on the Christmas Cracker.

And then she realised there was something on her head and it just had to come off.

What a great tradition. And how cute are all of you!
I seriously could have sworn you named Bailee with a middle name of Kherington. Was I imagining that? Now I can see that it's Bailee Kate (which is SO darling, by the way) and I'm realizing maybe you and Penny named your kids after our friend Katie C!

Trish,

You are the MOST observant person I know. You are not going crazy, you're right, we did name her Bailee Kherington.

It's a long story, maybe I'll post it one day. I was SO sick during the pregnancy that I didn't really think about names and I sort of went along with it. I've always LOVED the name Bailee but I hadn't considered how close it was to Brinlee. I am constantly mixing them up (and so is Marc).

In lieu of changing her name, which I've considered, but cannot easily talk Marc into, I have reverted back to Bailee Kate, which was MY first choice to begin with. And it rolls of the tongue much easier.

Maybe I'm just crazy (Marc just said I am). I just can't believe you noticed.
