The Dog Trainer

You'll probably remember those exciting stories of the dog escaping and our mad dash to find him. Well... problem solved. My idea was to get a dog run for the summer when the kids were in and out of the house and the back yard.
Marc wasn't too keen on the idea so he bought a 'remote dog trainer' which is a collar that we control with a remote. First there is a high pitch warning and then if needed a small shock is emitted. This collar is amazing.

Shakespeare is such a smart dog he rarely needs the shock, mostly just the warning. It has eliminated early morning yapping at the birds, whom he would chase from tree to tree, over and over and over. I swear they were taunting him. He can also go into the front yard without running away. He stays right within our yard. It is like having a new dog. Plus, when we take him for a walk he is right by our side, instead of how he usually pulls us down the street on the leash. Yay, for Shakespeare!

Our neighbors just got one of those things for Rowdy. He can go outside without a leash now. Maybe Mom and Dad should get one for putter? We are dogsitting him right now and can you believe that little turkey jumped up on our table and ate my kids' dinners off of their plates. He later upchucked it all...he he he...when John got home at 2am so he had to clean it up! Dogs..gotta love em.
