It's hard to believe my sweet little boy is now 9 years old! With three beautiful girls, we feel so blessed to have our sweet boy and he is exactly that...sweet as pie! We couldn't have asked for a more kind, loving, sweet, thoughtful and obedient child.
Yesterday was a busy day to celebrate because Marc had to have the floor sanded so the guy could come and varnish in the morning. We're off to the hotel again! Fortunately, my awesome friends are taking my kids so they aren't stuck in the hotel with us. For lunch, we took Jake and some friends over to the brand new McDonalds here in town. It's quite fancy inside and lots of fun for the kids. Later that night Marc took a break from sanding and we had a birthday cake and presents.
Jake began collecting WEBKINZ last year for his b-day when he turned 8. Being the mean mom that I am and not wanting to have a million stuffed animals around I told my kids they were limited to 4 each, then it went up to 6 and now I lifted the ban because Jake has a serious interest in these animals and he will work so hard to save up his money for them. This birthday he got 2 Webkinz (horse and toucan) from Nana and G'pa Holland, 1 Webkinz from us (samoyed dog) and 1 from his best friend (alligator/croc). He is waiting patiently for the Manatee to be released in August and he is using his b-day money from my Nana Hussey and Ron (his Nana Great) from England. He is SO excited. He also got a baseball net that returns the ball when he practices his throws. He is really into baseball so he was excited to get that. And G'ma and G'pa Collings got him a remote control moon that lights up all different phases of the moon. It goes so nicely in his 'planet/cosmo' bedroom.
Later that night the neighborhood kids gathered outside to watch "Gremlins" on the side of the neighbors house. We live in the best neighborhood and we have awesome neighbors who organize things like this for the kids all the time. I turned in early, around 11:00pm and the kids rolled in around 1:00pm.
Tonight we took Jake to dinner at his favorite restaurant,. Texas Roadhouse, where he ordered a sweet potato covered in toasted marshmallows!
