At Bailee's two day check up she was a looking a little yellow and her bilirubin levels came back a little high so with her being so tiny the Dr. erred on the side of a caution and told us she had to be in a light box for the next two days and two nights. Of course I was a little weepy because I wouldn't be able to snuggle and hold her and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep a wink all night with her in there, and I didn't. I thought she would be so uncomfortable if not dressed and swaddled but to our surprise, once she got used to it she did great.
The first night we had the box on the bed between the two of us. We had to make sure the blue flap kept her face covered and because she wasn't swaddled she kept flailing all over the place. The lights were so bright I felt as though I had slept in a tanning bed with my eyes open for two nights. My eyes are kind of sore and bloodshot and my 'sleep in' contacts had to be taken out because they were drying out.
The second night we were at a hotel. I know.....crazy! The floor saga continues. Marc has spent the last few weekends trying to get the floors completed but he ran into a couple of problems with the finish which bubbled in spots. So he sanded those few spots and then touched up with a brush. Yikes! It looked kind of bad. He was so tired of the floors that we called someone to come in and revarnish them. We had them scheduled this week because we were expecting baby sometime next week. We are desperate to get our house put back together so we kept the appointment and baby, Marc and I went to a hotel. It was a very nice and I really enjoyed it because all we could do was sit around and watch Bailee in the light box anyways. Jake is spending the week in Utah with his cousins and my mum was kind enough to take the two girls out to Lava to spend the night.
We had Bailee re-tested and she is doing much better. So no more light box. Thank Heavens!
I think we'll have a much better night's sleep tonight.
So, the floor! We came home the next day and found that the floor had a very bad reaction to the new varnish the guy put on. It all bubbled and looked like a bad sunburn. I can't describe how disappointed Marc was. Poor Guy! So, he's sanding it again this weekend and the guy will come next week to varnish it and then hopefully we will be done. I'll keep you posted!

Braylen had to be in the billi bed too. I thought it was so sad, she did ok but she had to be in it for almost 5 days, its so nice that you only had to do it for 2days. I hope everything else is going good with the new baby.
What a sad picture. I always feel so badly for those parents that have to have babies stay in NICU and they can't even hold them.
The floor...Derrick is around all weekend, and possibly monday and tuesday. Can he help with it at all? I'm sure he'd love to lend a hand if it could speed up the process at all. Let me know.
Lastly...should I be totally embarraced that I am aware within an hour whenever people have updated their blogs? Maybe some day I'll just check once a day, but for now...I'm watching almost all day long! Pathetic!!! kelli
I am glad that Bailee is doing better, that is hard and scary. And as for the floors, it seems like life cant be simple when you have a newborn. Let me know if I can help.
I'm so sorry about the floors, that has to be so disappointing! I'm glad Bailee is okay.

Oh my gosh... I can't believe the floor did that! When will it ever end??? I feel so bad for Bailee in that light box! I wouldn't be able to sleep either, I'm so glad she's done with that.
What a crazy week for you! I'm sorry you had to do the light box. I didn't even know they did that. Ella had fairly high bilirubin levels, too, but all they ever did was poke her. They never told me what they'd do if it got high enough. Apparently, the light box! Anyway, I'm glad she's doing better. She's sure lucky to have a family that loves her so much!
P.S. I guess you do have an RSS feed! I don't know why it gave me an error code the last time I tried to enter it. Now I won't miss any more posts!
